We are looking for a Project Mechanical Engineer to plan and coordinate projects within budget and according to schedule. This role’s responsibilities include upholding project standards by utilizing current systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying and reporting information. In this role you will be responsible for:
- Design, test, and deploy new products
- Provide engineering support to multiple functional groups: Production, Quality, Sales, Customer Service, and Service
- Evaluate existing products for product improvements and cost reductions
- Design/construct lab testing systems
- Conduct various lab tests and validate and document results
- Research and apply new technologies
- Troubleshoot customer issues
- Generate and maintain a project schedule
- Interface and coordinate with testing agencies as required (i.e., UL, NSF, ETL)
- Contribute to a cross-functional product development team
Requirements for this role include:
- Associate’s degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 5+ years of experience in the design, development, and manufacture of restaurant or residential appliance products
- Experience in design and fabrication of sheet metal, cast and injection molded parts
- Experience working end to end in a hands on product development environment, from product definition through post-sale customer support
- Basic understanding of mechanical assemblies and electrical assemblies
- Strong CAD experience (Solid Works) and well versed in Microsoft Office Programs
- Excellent project management skills
- Ability to solve problems using critical thinking and planned experimentation
- Possess good communications skills
- Experience with Lean (TPS), Set-Based Design and Concurrent Development a plus
- Knowledge of commercial foodservice equipment preferred
